Some professions may require evaluations of high-risk professionals at the time of hiring or at fixed intervals thereafter. In other cases, employers may have an acute need to determine the psychological condition of a particular employee. Common issues addressed include violence risk and the extent to which mental health or substance abuse issues may impede an employee's ability to properly and safely fulfill job-related duties.
