Focused Assessments
Focused assessments for Family Court are designed to address specific referral questions and involve interviews, parent-child observations, and review of collateral information. Examples of focused assessments include recommendations for shared parenting or visitation in cases where there is a presumption of parental fitness and custody is not in dispute. They do not necessarily involve psychological evaluation of any party, although parental fitness, parent-child relationship, or full child custody evaluations may be recommended on the basis of a focused assessment.
